While there have been significant accomplishments in the field of nuclear nonproliferation in the past five years. There are also significant challenges ahead. This workshop will convene policy and technology professionals to identify and explore transformative approaches, methods and techniques for these challenges. Target participants range from students and early career professionals to senior experts.

Two key activities are on the agenda. The morning session will cover presentations of submitted abstracts. During the afternoon session, participants work through actual safeguards and arms control challenges using scenario-based table top exercises.

Potential topics may include (but not be limited to):

  • Containment and surveillance
  • Cyber and information security
  • Radiation detection
  • New information sources
  • Information analysis
  • Robotics, drones and automation
  • Additive manufacturing
  • Satellite imagery
  • Emerging fuel cycle facilities
  • Multilateral negotiations and verification
  • Nuclear material accountancy

Join your colleagues for an educational evening of networking at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. This special event is included in your registration and will feature drinks, hors d'oeuvres and a tour of the nation’s only congressionally chartered museum in our field. The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is an intriguing place to learn the story of the Atomic Age. Exhibits span the early research of nuclear development through today’s peaceful uses of nuclear technology.

Beer Brewery Trolley Tour

6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Hop, hop, hooray! Join us for a "hop-on, hop-off" brew cruise featuring some of the best beers in Burque. Your ticket (included in your registration) gets you unlimited trolley transportation during your 2-hour "flight" and a discount at each brewery. The trolley will make stops at each of 3-4 participating breweries, approximately every 30-minutes. Our flight boards at 6:30 p.m. and returns at 8:30 p.m. We hope to see you onboard!
