January 14-16, 2009
Mandarin Oriental Hotel
Washington, D.C. USA
The Waste Management Division of the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) is pleased to announce that it will hold the 26th annual seminar in its series on the management of spent nuclear fuel Jan. 14-16, 2009, in Washington, D.C.
This seminar series began in 1983 shortly after the Nuclear Waste Policy Act was passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Ronald Reagan.
It provides participants with an annual updated overview of government programs and policy development, the status of spent fuel management technologies and projects, licensing of spent fuel management facilities and equipment, and the special considerations related to the transport, storage and disposal of spent fuel and associated waste.
The seminar affords attendees the opportunity to informally and actively participate in the discussions and to interface with experts in the research and development, design, engineering, siting, licensing, construction and operation of spent fuel management equipment and facilities--as well as with program managers and policy makers.
