Volume 6, Number 1 Member News INMM Welcomes New Members, Honors New Senior Members
The Membership Committee met during the 49th Annual Meeting and welcomed its newest regular and senior members. Since the last newsletter, the Committee approved the applications of 75 new regular members to the Institute, two new sustaining memberships, and five new student members. Their names are listed at the bottom of this report. Many of the new members attended the New Member/Senior Member Reception during the Annual Meeting and were given the opportunity to meet and mingle with the Executive Committee members, the Membership Committee members, and the Emeritus members, among others. Eight senior members were approved during the spring: Bill Hopwood, Marco Marzo, Debra McNeilly, Thomas Pham, Katsuyuki Suzuki, Grace Thompson, and Taner Uckan. The senior members were selected for their long-term dedication to the field of nuclear materials management and their tireless support of the Institute’s meetings, committees, chapter activities and technical divisions. During the New Member/Senior Member Reception, Jim Larrimore led a reminiscences presentation in which the newly selected senior members briefly recounted their favorite INMM memories. It was a big hit and will be repeated next year. Chair Grace Thompson has been elected to serve as Member-at- Large on the INMM Executive Committee. INMM President Steve Ortiz will announce the new chair in the coming weeks. I will continue to serve on the committee as a member and will assist the new chair in assuming his or her duties.
