Special Sessions at the 49th INMM Annual Meeting

Planning is underway for the 49th INMM Annual Meeting July 13-17 in Nashville, TN, USA. See the INMM Web site for details.

INMM encourages participation of individuals who wish to organize special sessions for the Annual Meeting on topics of relevance to the nuclear safeguards community. We feel that the success of the Annual Meeting is based on full participation and cooperation among the attendees. To make this process work properly potential session organizers must adhere to the following:

• You MUST consult with an INMM Technical Division chair or the chair of the INMM Technical Program Committee (cpietri@aol.com) before you take any action to set up a special session. Submit your proposals as soon as possible but before Nov. 15, 2007. Contact INMM Headquarters (inmm@inmm.org) if you need assistance in making these contacts.

• If your proposal is accepted, you are responsible for getting the papers in your session submitted by the Feb. 1 deadline and keeping INMM informed of progress and any issues. Special identification on the Web site for these sessions will be provided to you and the speakers to facilitate submission to INMM.

• The Technical Program Committee meets for one day during the first week of March each year to review the papers submitted for the Annual Program. The exact date will be announced later. It is required that the special session organizer (or a knowledgeable surrogate) be present at this meeting to assist in the review deliberations.

INMM appreciates the interest and efforts of individuals to take on this important role to further enhance the Annual Meeting program.
