As other sections of this edition of the Communicator discuss in more detail, this year’s INMM Annual Meeting, to be held July 13-17, 2008, in Nashville kicks off our year-long celebration of our 50th anniversary of the Institute. The number of high-quality abstracts that were submitted is phenomenal, and the meeting is scheduled to be four and a half days of the best and most up-to-date information regarding the management of nuclear materials. I hope that all of you are planning to attend.

For those of you who have joined INMM since our last annual meeting, mark your calendars for the New Member/New Senior Member Reception to be held during the Annual Meeting. This reception is an opportunity for you to meet the Executive Committee as well as other officers of INMM, and our opportunity to welcome all of the new members and honor those who have recently been selected as Senior Members. The reception will be held on Monday, July 14. If you are a new member or new Senior Member, you will receive an invitation with the details. Make your plans now to attend the INMM Annual Meeting. As a member, you are eligible to receive reduced rates for registration.

We are beginning the process to solicit applications for new Senior Members. A broadcast email will be sent out soon, and we encourage qualified INMM members to apply. The application deadline is April 13.

Since the last edition of the Communicator, the Membership Committee has had the privilege of reviewing the applications of and approving 43 new members. The names of these new members are listed at the end of this report, and the students are indicated with their school affiliation.

As always, if you find the name of a colleague on this list, be sure to welcome them and let them know of the ways that you find your INMM membership valuable. And, remember to keep your own contact information up to date in our online directory. Modifying the database to reflect your most recent contact information is easy and takes only a few minutes. Your changes with be reflected in the online directory automatically.

I welcome your input about any INMM member, including yourself. Send any items of interest and keep your colleagues informed by contacting either me at gethomp@sandia.gov or our Communicator Editor, Sara Pozzi at pozzisa@umich.edu. Include photographs when possible.

I encourage all new members and existing members to get involved in the six technical divisions of INMM and in regional chapter and student chapter activities. See you at the Annual Meeting!
