Inside Insight
Insight into the activities of the INMM leadership and Executive Committee
49th INMM Annual Meeting
Your papers are what make the INMM Annual Meeting. I hope everyone submitted their papers for this year’s meeting. It is the one opportunity we get each year to share technology, policy and program information from the nuclear materials management industry. We will be putting the technical sessions together in early March. The Technical Program Committee always manages to put together a program that has something of interest for all members.
50th Anniversary
Planning for the INMM 50th anniversary is progressing nicely under the leadership of Ed Johnson and Deborah Dickman. They have working closely with the technical program committee and the INMM Executive Committee to make sure that 50 years of INMM are celebrated as an integral part of the annual meeting program and activities. If you are interested in helping plan these activities I believe it is not too late. Just contact Ed or Deborah.
WINS
It looks like WINS is getting very close to becoming a reality. Part of the March Executive committee meeting will include discussions between INMM and the WINS coordinating committee on next steps and the level of involvement of the INMM with WINS. It is my belief that the INMM brings a wealth of technical knowledge of Nuclear Material Management to WINS. Defining how this serves the WINS goals will help us determine our role.
Workshops
INMM is involved in several upcoming workshops.
INMM-ANS 8th International Conference on Facility Operations-Safeguards Interface, March 30 through April 4, in Portland, OR. This workshop is a joint workshop between INMM and ANS.
INMM/ESARDA Workshop, Oct. 6-9, in Tokyo Japan. More information on these workshops can be found on the INMM Web site.
