Inside Insight
Insight into the activities of the INMM leadership and Executive Committee
E-balloting
The INMM is moving forward with the implementation of electronic balloting. We realize that not all members have access to e-mail so the leadership decided to notify members of the annual election by sending a broadcast e-mail to members who have e-mail addresses and send postal notification to members without e-mail addresses or to those members who’s e-mail notification bounces back as undeliverable. 50th Anniversary
President Nancy Jo Nicholas presented the need for an ad hoc committee to plan and implement events celebrating the INMM’s 50th anniversary. E. R. Johnson and Debbie Dickman were asked to co-chair the committee and to get others involved in developing events to celebrate the special milestone.
Congressional Relations
The Executive Committee is entertaining the idea of creating a Congressional Relations Ad Hoc Committee. Obie Amacker accepted an action to have the Fellows Committee brainstorm this idea and provide recommendations to the Executive Committee in March.
WINS
The INMM leadership is very supportive of the WINS concept. Jim Tape of the INMM participated in meetings in Vienna at the end of November to help further define this concept and further define the roles of the participants. The March Executive Committee meeting will dedicate half a day to WINS -- Jim and others will bring us up to date and provide an opportunity to discuss.
EC Meeting
The March Executive Committee meeting will be held at the Key Bridge Marriott from March 6-8. The 6th is scheduled for the 2007 Technical Program Committee paper review and the 7th and 8th are reserved for the Executive Committee meeting.
Annual Meeting
Make your reservation early for this year’s annual meeting. We plan on developing an exciting program and look to meet or exceed last year’s record attendance. Your participation is the strength of the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management. Get details at www.inmm.org/meetings.
