As other sections of this edition of the Communicator discuss in more detail, this year’s INMM Annual Meeting, to be held July 16-20 in Nashville, Tenn., could be the largest we have ever had the privilege of hosting. The number of high-quality abstracts that were submitted was phenomenal, and the meeting is scheduled to be four and a half days of the best and most up-to-date information regarding the management of nuclear materials. I hope that all of you are planning to attend.

And, for those of you who have joined INMM since our last annual meeting, you need to be aware of the New Member/New Senior Member Reception that will be held during the Annual Meeting. This reception is an opportunity for you to meet the Executive Committee as well as other officers of INMM, and our opportunity to welcome all of the new members and honor those who are newly-selected as Senior Members. The reception will be held on Monday, July 17–if you are a new member, you will receive an invitation with the details. But I wanted to remind you that you need to make your plans now to attend the INMM Annual Meeting.

Since the last edition of the Communicator, the Membership Committee has had the privilege of reviewing the applications of and approving 39 new members. The names of these new members are listed at the end of this report.

As always, if you find the name of a colleague on this list, be sure to welcome them and let them know of the ways that you find your INMM membership valuable. And, remember to keep your own contact information up-to-date in our online directory. Modifying the database to reflect your most recent contact information is easy and takes only a few minutes.

I am excited to let you know about some information about two of our members. On March 27, Bechtel Nevada assumed management responsibility for material control and accountability at the Nevada Test Site.

Two of the individuals named to head up the new organization were Wayne Kiehl, who was named MC&A manager, and Geneva Johnson, who was appointed material control officer for MC&A. Congratulations to both Wayne and Geneva. As we always say, our membership includes the leaders in nuclear material management worldwide, and we are always glad to see our members placed in positions where they can positively influence the implementation of nuclear materials management.

I welcome your news about any INMM member, including yourself. Send any items of interest and keep your colleagues informed by contacting either me at scott.vance@shawpittman.com or our Communicator Editor, Sara Pozzi at pozzisa@ornl.gov. Include photographs when possible.
