National Security Technologies, LLC

National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec), has an opening for a Senior Scientist (Material Control & Accountability) at the Nevada National Security Site. U.S. Citizenship required.  No dual citizens.  

Successful candidate will perform non-destructive assay measurements on nuclear material.  Ensure measuring instruments are functioning properly. Ability to organize, evaluate, and interpret data by comparison against standards and guidelines.  Assist with measurement data collection and analysis.  Candidate must be able to record data accurately and complete logs, reports, and other written information.  Candidate must have the ability to use technical and scientific software.  Will be trained and qualified on various nuclear material measurement systems, which may include participation in the development of appropriate procedures, job aids, etc. to support nuclear measurement activities and involvement in research and development of equipment and unique methods of completing nuclear material measurements.  May coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel and assist in developing procedures, work plans, and work control documents.  Develops and presents education or training in applicable discipline. Selects and brings scientific methods to bear.  Candidate oversees all MC&A measurement methods.  Participate in and embrace NSTec environment, safety, health, and quality initiatives. Perform related work as assigned by supervisor.

Successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a calculus-based Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics field, plus at least five years' relevant experience.  Applicant will be able to execute work in a disciplined manner to demonstrate compliance with laws, codes, orders, and NSTec policies and procedures. Ability to prioritize and schedule multiple activities in the most efficient manner and meet required deadlines.  Applicant must possess the ability to understand complex data, terminology, procedures, laws, and regulations.  Able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, and initiative to evaluate alternative methods of solving problems.
